TPD CHALLENGERS APRIL 2011
Congratulations to all the TPD Challengers who stayed focused and worked hard to achieve their goals. 27 participants weighed out and a total of 189 lbs was lost...Bravo! The program was much more demanding this time with 2 scheduled sweat producing exercise sessions per week. As well, over $600 dollars was raised for the BC SPCA!

Hi Michelle:
ReplyDeleteI think you should be congratulated on a successful program. If I can share some of the reasons I particularly enjoyed it.
2 scheduled classes per week commitment, with time to add individual activities if we could. The variety of 3 different classes power walk + aerobics + bootcamp makes it more interesting.
Inclusion of family & dogs etc made it fun. Outdoors – I love to be outside
Tolerance of less fit people who may be returning to exercise after illness/injury. These are the people that are intimidated by many fitness classes.
A very sociable group who seemed to be on a journey together to increase fitness or lose weight or both.
Your enthusiasm & the fact that you managed to learn some names beats the often impersonal aerobics classes.
Thanks!

Hi Michelle,
ReplyDeleteThanks again for a great 6 weeks – enjoyed all your workouts! I definitely feel more fit and am motivated to “carry on”. I have sent an email to Doug Taylor and truly hope your program will take hold at KCC and other Community Centres.
All the best ,
Ann
Thanks again, Michelle, for making the program so painless (well, almost).

Hey Michelle! I just wanted to say thanks for this program! I have been so lazy the last few years (and the effects of being lazy sure caught up with me), and even the thought of battling it was draining. So when I saw this offered for such a reasonable price, I thought "walking and a few aerobic classes wont kill me". At the weigh out, I know, with out a doubt that I wont be the "biggest loser". All I really wanted out of this was to be motivated to get out at least 2 times a week to be active, which I know isn't nearly enough (but hey, I had to start somewhere!). But over the last 6 weeks, I realised how much I really really like power walking. It wasn't until about week 4 or 5 that I started craving going for walks on a daily basis! So i started taking 15 min of my lunch break to walk 1.5 km around the park where I work. And every evening after dinner I walk for 30-45 minutes. And because I was actually feeling good about my activity, I started being much much much more conscience about my food intake. Smaller portions and much more reasonable desserts! However, i fear my late efforts are too little too late for the 10 pound down challenge for me. I never got around to checking my weight, which I probably should have. So Sunday morning it will be a surprise to see if there is any weight loss. either way I am happy, because I feel different! energy, sleep and even appearance and confidence has all improved I think. So thanks again!!
